Mewar Festival :

The Mewar Festival is an annual event celebrated in the month of March or April in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The festival welcomes the onset of the spring season. During this festival, the idols of Gangaur and Isar are circulated in a procession through different parts of the city. The Mewar Festival has special significance for women, as they are the main participants in this procession. Idols of the procession are prepared and adorned by womenfolk. Dancing, singing, music concerts, firework displays etc. are the parts of the procession. The procession concludes at the Gangaur Ghat of Lake Pichhola. The idols of Isar and Gauri are transferred into special boats at the Ghat. After the procession culminates, the cultural part of the Mewar Festival begins. Songs, dance performances and a number of other programs are organized that highlight the Rajasthani culture. This three-day festival ends with a beautiful display of fireworks.
